The RPS Music Studio

So this studio is an approximately 12 x 12 foot bedroom.

The Computer

The computer is a Geekom IT12 Mini PC with an Intel 12th Gen i9 processor, 32GB of RAM and a 1TB SSD running Windows 11 25H2.

The Software

Cubase

Cubase is our chosen DAW. Malmesbury school has a mix of Apple MAC and Windows computers using Logic Pro on the MACs and Cubase on the Windows PCs. As Jesse was taking Music GCSE it made sense that as I only had Windows experience that I should choose Cubase

The Hardware

The Audio Interface

The audio interface is a Behringer UMC1820.

MIDI Interfaces

We have 2 MIDI interfaces, The first one is a Behringer FCB1010 MIDI Foot Controller. Bought many years ago before the idea of a home studio came up, it’s now used as a transport controller for Cubase. Much easier to use my foot then my hand to start recording when playing guitar. The second is a Novation Launchkey 49 MK4. Used as a direct interface into the VSTs running in Cubase.

Monitors

A pair of JBL 305P MKII Studio Monitors.
